Six colors, twelve questions, two minutes

Ask three friends to describe you and you will get three long, slightly different speeches. Ask them what color you are and they will answer in a second. That is the idea behind this quiz. Colors carry a mood everybody already understands, so one of them can sum up how you come across faster than a paragraph can. The color personality test asks twelve questions, takes about two minutes, and hands you one of six results: red, blue, green, yellow, purple, or orange. It is free, it runs in your browser, and there is no sign-up.

Why we never ask your favorite color

Your favorite color tells us what you like to look at. It says very little about what you do when the bus is late. Plenty of people love a calm navy and behave like a marching band. So the questions skip the paint chart and ask about ordinary moments instead: a street with no power, a bookshelf with screws left over, a long train ride with no signal. Nothing in the options names a color, so you can't steer toward the one you were hoping for.

What each color says about you

Red goes first and asks questions later. Blue thinks it over, then remembers it for years. Green keeps the plants alive and the plans realistic. Yellow turns a waiting room into a conversation. Purple is busy with an idea nobody else has had yet. Orange has already said yes and is looking for its shoes. Every result page covers what that color does well, where it tends to trip, and which other color it gets along with best.

It's a game, so play it like one

This quiz is for fun. It is not a scientific or clinical assessment, and it can't measure anything a professional would. What it can do is start a good argument. Answer as the person you are on an ordinary day, not the wiser version who lives in your head, and then send the link to someone who knows you well. Their guess about your color is usually wrong, and finding out why is the best part.

Questions about the Color Personality Test

Is the color personality test scientifically accurate?

No. It is an entertainment quiz, not a scientific or psychological assessment. It can't diagnose anything or measure your personality in a formal way. It is meant to be fun and to give you something to talk about.

How many questions are in the color personality test?

Twelve. Most people finish in about two minutes. You can go back and change earlier answers before you submit the last one.

What colors can I get?

There are six results. You can get red, blue, green, yellow, purple, or orange.

How is my result calculated?

Each answer gives points to one or two colors. When you finish, the color with the most points is your result. If two colors tie, your most recent answers break the tie.

Do you save my answers?

No. Your answers stay in your browser while you take the test and are never sent to a server. We don't ask for your name, email, or age.

Can I retake the test?

Yes, as many times as you like. Use the Retake button on your result page, or just start again from this page.
